In this course, Kirby goes through four somatic tools which help us to feel a sense of inner peace, more balanced, and more harmonious.

Nervous System Foundations

This class is for anyone interested in becoming trauma informed. For this first level, you don’t need to know much about astrology.
It is designed for Therapists, Nurses, Yoga Teachers, Coaches, and Astrologers. In this first course, you don’t need to know much about Somatic Process work or therapeutic practices. It is for beginners, and yet we delve deeply into the topics offered. You will get a lot out of taking this course!
We cover nervous system basics - autonomic nervous system, functional range, resourcing the nervous system, “what is trauma?”, and introduce the nervous system repair process.
In addition, this class includes introductory theory and gentle somatic techniques from embodiment lineages. A safe, gentle class for those who want to grow and stretch themselves in a container based on mutual well-wishing and collaboration. It is best to go in order with these classes (taking this one first).

This is an online class. The videos will be available here on this site by June 25th. You must be a Member to watch them. There are class notes and other materials to supplement this vital material.
We will offer monthly live, online Discussion and Supervision Groups where you can get your questions answered and delve deeper into the material. You can also present your clients’ cases in the Supervision Group.

In this class, we will dive into the Western Astrology chart. It is recommended (but not required) that you know your way around the horoscope - at least know the meanings of the planets, the zodiac signs, the elements and qualities, and the astrological houses. Knowing a bit about the aspects and the angles will be helpful as well.
If you watch some Astrology 101 videos on YouTube, you will be fine to take this course. We start to get into Developmental Psychology and other refined topics - both in the Horoscope and the Nervous System.
In this course, we will look at how we can start to see the potential for overwhelming stress (trauma) in the birth chart. And we will discuss what to do with that information. We will unpack the Astrological Hemispheres and the Nervous System, start to get into Developmental (Psychological) Meanings of the Outer Planets, the deeper meanings of the Outer Planets (including Saturn) and more!
This class (Part One) will be available here on our TIA site by July 30th 2024. There will be a manual and other materials to go along with the videos.

Navigating the Healing Journey
To take this class, you must complete the first two classes (above). You will need to have a good base of astrological knowledge to easily traverse this material.
In this class, we further deepen our tools for being with overwhelming stress. We will continue learning Nervous System Repair theory and techniques. And we will blend it all with Astrological techniques!
We will look at sympathetic & parasympathetic dominant systems (and charts) and discuss ways to work with both. We will continue to cultivate greater embodiment with easy somatic exercises. We will look at how different astrological aspects can affect our resilience and the functional range. We will discuss the threat response ladder and more!
This class will be available here on the TIA site. It is only available to All-Access Members. In addition to the videos, there will be notes and other supplemental materials.
This class will be ready sometime in the winter / spring of 2025.
Practitioner Level Classes
T.I. Astrology Practitioner Level Certification
If you want to learn more about somatic processing and being able to work with diverse and complex forms of trauma, then the Practitioner Level is for you! You must complete the Essentials Level courses (above) to be able to take these classes. Here are the classes required for the Practitioner Certification in T. I. Astrology:
Stress, Over-coupling & Astrology
In this class, we will explore ways to work with over-coupling, in the nervous system and in the astrology chart. This will be a live, online class format with assistants. There will be small group work to practice these nervous system repair tools - you will learn much more about nervous system repair theory and practice.
Available by the summer of 2024.
Timing Aspects
In this course, we will get into Transits, Secondary Progressions and Solar Arc Directions. These prognostication techniques are very insightful both for ourselves and our clients. We will explore how certain aspects reflect various nervous system challenges and repair in our lives, and discuss and practice techniques to work with some of them.
Available late summer of 2024.
Somatic Tools for Cultivating Resilience
In this class, we will deepen our embodiment of well-being. This is a live, online class with assistants. We will take the somatic exercises from the Essentials Level and deepen them, coming into greater alignment with head, heart and pelvis. Here you will encounter nervous system states that can only be experienced (talking about them does not do them justice). Here you get to play with greater spaciousness, grounded awareness, and embodied freedom.
Health & Wellness Astrology
Explore how the astrology chart can reveal which elements, organs and body systems can get depleted. Also looking at how unresolved trauma manifests in the astrology chart and ways that will indicate trauma symptoms if untreated.
Available summer of 2024.

Working with Shame
In this advanced class, we will look at how Shame manifests in the Astrology chart and we will do three demos to show how to work with it. There will be time for participants to practice with each other as well. To be accepted into this class, you must have completed the Essentials level certification.

Karmic Astrology
This class will be offered in the Fall of 2024. Learn techniques and theory around working with Karmic Astrology. Seeing how past lives may still be affecting you and your clients today.
